I wisely took some time off from both my jobs last weekend and went on another mini road trip with my sister. We went to see our Aunt and Uncle in Aiken, SC and stayed there for a night and then went on to Charlston, SC. Oh we had so much fun! In Aiken we just chilled and shopped in the neat little shops downtown and stayed up late watchin' movies. In Charlston we walked the boardwalk downtown, went to a water park, and went iceskating for the very first time! My sister and I have discovered a new love in iceskating. We did really well too. You may not believe me but I didn't fall once! I would be lying though if I told you that I didn't come close to falling.
The only thing that I would have changed about the trip was the weather. One of the days it got up to 105 and the humidity was terrible! It felt just like south Florida.
Well, the journey back home was an adventure. My poor car is still having issues ever since the major break down. On the way, the windshield wiper on my side started to get lose and went further and further off track until whap! it got stuck on the side of the car on top of the side view mirror! You had to be there, but the way it happened my sister and I just busted up laughing. Thank goodness it was only sprinkling otherwise we wouldn't have found it funny. Well, I pulled over and rigged it well enough just in time for it to really pour. During the storm we saw the coolest lightening show ever. One time two lightening bolts traveled horizontally accross the sky towards each other, joined in the middle, and then went straight down! I've never seen anything like it.
So there you have it. It was a really cool trip but now I have to get back to work. Bummer...
Voice too hushed
For the ear to listen
I do not know
Only feel
The dream is quiet
In dimm black and white
And all is glass
Breaking at my touch
Trailing my path
With broken shards
My eyes sense the invisible
Blinking with dry tears
Shadows fade in
Falling accross my sight
Making brighter
What light is left
Wake will not come
There is no promise of rescue
In these black feathers
Of my flightless wings
Not everyone is going to remember your birthday. However, there are certain people that are important to you that you expect to remember. It's strange how that worked out on my own recent birthday. The people I didn't expect to remember (much less know) did, and some I expected to remember didn't. A friend of mine who made me promise to remember his (which I did) last month still has completely forgotten me. Two of my very own relatives (whom I'm very close to) were going to take me to see Spiderman 3 since it came out on my birthday. They still have completely forgotten me as well.
I wanted to see Spiderman 3 so I tried to get the family together but, for one reason or another, we didn't get to. Then, I tried to go with a friend from school but they had already seen it the night before. At that point, I realized that I didn't want to see it with anyone at all, and suddenly I wanted to be alone. So, I said, "Forget this!" and went to see it today by myself. Boy was it good too! Spiderman 3 rocks! I feel better now...
Yesterday was quite an adventure for sure! The first of three main events involved a new house. We've been in the process of finding a new house to rent since my Dad changed jobs. Lately we've been getting rather desperate to find one since we need to be out of our old house by the end of the month. Because of this, my parents were ready to take just about anything at this point. They found what they believed would be "the one" but when my sister and I saw it, we were hesitent to say the least. It needed a lot of fixing up. I was not ready to move in for something like that so I was determined to pray for a miracle. And that's exactly what we needed if we were to find anything else in time! Well, sure enough, a miracle is exactly what we got! Yesterday we found the perfect house! It has just about everything we need and there is no fixing up need at all! It's perfect!
Next main event. After viewing the house, I was driving us all home when my car did a jerk and then started down shifting. I pulled over and the car just quit. I tried to start it up again but it was no use. So, my car is in the shop getting fixed. I still don't know what's wring with it and I very much hope that it's nothing too major. I hate the feeling of not being able to just get up and go whenever I want or need to.
The final main event involves a mouse. Our cat caught a mouse that found it's way into our house. I felt bad for the poor thing and thought I would rescue it and let it free outside. Well, when I tried to get it out of Snuggles' jaws, it just reached right out and clamped onto my finger! I pulled my finger away and saw blood. "Well fine then!" I yelled at it. "You're on your own!" He still got away somehow, but Snuggles can have him next time as far as I'm concerned!
And that was my adventerous day! No, I don't have rabies...
